Emergency Relief Permits Now Available: Livestock Feed & Livestock
Governor Gordon has issued Executive Order 2026-05, making emergency relief permits available for hauling oversize and overweight loads of livestock feed and livestock during Wyoming's drought and wildfire emergency.
A permit is still required. Get one from the Wyoming Highway Patrol – Port of Entry before moving a load.
Permits cover loads traveling within Wyoming, or through Wyoming to another state that has declared a livestock emergency.
In effect now through September 4, 2026, unless the emergency ends sooner.

Emergency Livestock Relief Program (ELRP)
In May 2025, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Farm Service Agency (FSA) announced the release of $1 billion to livestock producers impacted by drought or wildfire in 2023 and 2024. Eligible producers must have an approved Livestock Forage Disaster Program (LFP) application on file for 2023 and/or 2024. Payments are automatically issued and can be received for one or both years. LFP provides up to 60% of the estimated replacement feed cost when an eligible drought adversely impacts grazing lands or 50% of the monthly feed cost for the number of days the producer is prohibited from grazing federally managed rangeland because of a qualifying wildfire.
